The breakfast was nice. Don't leave your food outside, though, because huge seagulls seemed to know when people were having breakfast. 😀 The location is close to the busy touristy street and the central station. The staff was friendly.

Thon Hotel Astoria is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from the main transport hub, making it an ideal base for exploring Oslo. With the 48-hour Oslo Pass, we had unlimited access to public transport and were able to visit all the major attractions with ease. Our twin room [420] was spacious and comfortable, offering everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The breakfast selection was excellent. A nice touch was the heated bathroom floor, which added to the comfort. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient — we really appreciated that our room was ready when we arrived around noon. The hotel also managed the Porter Service for us, ensuring our luggage was sent ahead as we embarked on the 12-hour Norway in a Nutshell tour. They even gave us a breakfast pack on request as we checked out at 7.30am.

Compared to Oslo’s high cost of living, the accommodation rates here are reasonable. Above all, the location is excellent. The Central Terminal, Opera House, Munch Museum, Deichman Library, and more are very close by. Karl Johans Gate is right in front of the hotel, and the Astrup Fearnley Museum and National Museum are within walking distance. The best part is the breakfast—unfortunately, I could only have one serving because I had to catch an early train to Stockholm. Even compared to much more expensive hotels in other areas, Thon Hotel Astoria has the best breakfast. I keep thinking about the breakfast I couldn’t fully enjoy. Oh, and they also offer free coffee and fruit. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I was so satisfied with this place that I had to write one.

travel frequently as a flight attendant and usually stay in 5-star hotels, but Thon Hotel honestly impressed me beyond expectations. The room was spotlessly clean, and the staff treated us with genuine warmth little gestures like offering another cup of tea. the night shift front desk staff were so helpful and kind. The location is excellent: just a 5-minute walk from the station, only two stops from Oslo Lufthavn (I paid 130 NOK for the ride), and very close to the city’s main attractions. And unlike many hotels in the same price range, breakfast is included making it feel like 5-star service at a much better value. I thought this level of hospitality and service could only be found in 5stars but i was wrong! Highly recommend!

Very pleasant and functional hotel room which excellently serves it's purpose of accommodating various sorts of guests in this beautiful city. Room was not big but specious enough (as expected) and very inteligently composed, well-equiped and definitely so relaxing. Large windows in my room, in one of upper floors, gave me more than enough natural light. I was also impresed the way this quarter was so decent, quite visited but peaceful at nights. Also elegant in a very old fashioned manner. Everything in acomodation was clean and bed was super comfortable. All of neighborhood is very charming and welcoming to a guest, even though it's quite large and in a very city center. Breakfast was with enough options and plentiful. Alttough hotel is for every recommendation hotel staff is, at least that is my opinion as a frequent traveler who visited more than 40 countries wordwide, up to the task and equallly worthy resource of this hotel. Always very kind, with a sincere smile and ready to serve the guest. Definitely, all of this experience was excellent memory and good value for money.

Breakfast at the hotel was really amazing, a good variation of everything. Everything tasted really good, thanks to people that work there. Really liked the room, for a single travel it was perfect. I had enough space for everything, the bed wasn't too small and was comfortable. I had everything I need in the hotel room. The location of this hotel was perfect. Very close to everything, and especially really close to train station. Everything was in walk distance, but as well it was easy to find public transports around the town.

Amazing breakfast! The warm dishes were very well-prepared; not like your average hotel buffet. The staff were cleaning away the used plates diligently. The location is also very central, and it was really good value for money. The bed was also very comfortable, and it was definitely possible to darken the room entirely.

Excellent location - probably fewer than five minutes from the central station, and well-located for public transport to all the major attractions, or just to wander down to the waterfront and city centre. Breakfast was top class - really good range of hot and cold options. I had a single room - it was like a modern student room really, very compact, but perfectly adequate for my needs, as I was travelling on my own. Everything was kept very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It’s our second time to stay at the hotel.Everything is good.The breakfast is so delicious!The grilled mushroom and potato tasted exceptionally good(Michelin stars selected). The staff is helpful and friendly, especially at the breakfast restaurant,makes the guests feel comfortable at home.

A good 3-stars hotel at walking distance from Oslo central station, all transport hubs and most attractions. Friendly and efficient staff. Good breakfast. Coffee-making machine at the entrance, available 24/7. Rooms have a kettle for tea- and instant coffee-making.
